Kit and Mr.B spent a wonderful day at the Green Man Festival in Clun, Shropshire. Clun is a tiny little place with a ruined castle, but on the May Bank Holiday weekend it’s filled with hundreds of visitors all wanting to celebrate Beltane in traditional style. There were Morris Dancers and a Maypole, as well as the battle on the bridge between the Frost Queen and the Green Man.
It took ages to visit the many craft stalls as we kept bumping into Stonewylders, easily identifiable by their Stonewylde T-shirts and badges. It was good to meet new fans as well as old – and some Promo Pixies in action too! At the end of the day, we managed to get a group shot of some of them.
A throroughly recommended event if you are in the area next Beltane. Oh yes, as you can see, the Green Man triumphed over the Frost Queen. Not difficult given the very warm sunny weather on the day!
